CHARACTER SUMMARY

Irene Red is an orphan; she was raised in a school-slash-orphanage with a group of other children, including her best friend, Edge. As a child she had plans for working hard and building a house for herself and her friend to live in, but as she started to grow older this eventually was derailed by an all encompassing war that engulfed her country (the United States of Mammalia) and their neighbors. The nation of Volk - a nation of bird beastmen - attacked the Reptile Republic and Irene's nation was likewise dragged in. Thinking she was going to defend her home - and prevent other people from dying - Red signed up and enlisted for the duration of the war. Since then she's been fighting on the frontlines with her company, enduring the hellish nature of modern warfare...

Red is still relatively young - only in her mid-twenties - and it shows in her personality. Or maybe that's just how she is. She's a little impulsive, generally preferring to act rather than plan and has a bit of a temper, too - she can hold a grudge or nurse an insult for a while, if she's not careful (or if she's not placated). She can and will get into fights if she's not careful, but can be convinced to cool off. She has a sense of humor and when she's in a good mood, she can joke, tease, and exchange banter with her friends. Red also has a very strong protective streak, especially when it comes to younger people or her friends or those she cares about, and will happily throw herself into danger to protect them. Her sense of fair-play and justice is also quite strong - higher level politics and double-dealing are not things she enjoys or approves of. She'll help people out and chip in when a task needs doing and has a rather strongly developed work ethic.
