( there’s a bit of nervousness in her voice, and granted she herself has slept with others—

it has mostly been men who easily became her friend after. for some reason or another [cultural hangups and the like], she felt a bit of nervousness about red and their friendship moving forward. )

So um…I don’t want to be weird or anything but those feelings you had last time….

I’m guessing ‘cupid’ had something to do with it right?

[ There's an awkward pause on Red's end. That. After a seond she clears her throat. ]

Well, yeah. Pretty much. Sorry if that's... not what you were expecting. This place has a way of getting into my head at the worst time.

I’m not upset by it at all I just…

( she took a deep breath and paused for a moment, swallowing down a bundle of nerves caught up in her throat. )

Wanted to make sure you were okay and I um…don’t want this to stand in our way of being friends.

[ Hold on. She has to think about this for a second, her mind racing a moment or two as she tries to sort through her emotions. ]

...I'm OK. And - well - it's what this place is, right? It's going to encourage us to do stuff like that and - I don't hold it against you. If that makes sense. And I wouldn't, anyway!

Really? You aren't upset?

I wasn't lying by the way, you were the first woman I've ever been with but...I really want to be your friend. I worry about you, you know?

( and if red knew reira, how selfish she was, she'd be surprised. red somehow has been a good influence on her. )

If anything, I'm more upset at the hotel for getting into my head.

[ Red sounds a bit strained, but honest enough. ]

I'm... still not used to being so free with this stuff, but I don't want it to just... cut me off from people, either. You know? You don't have to worry about me.

Ah the cupid and his cherubs thing....someone was telling me it's a common enough occurrence. I guess we all just have to prepare ourselves for when it happens.

( as for that, reira wouldn't consider herself free with it either but she certainly was able to be intimate with others without letting her emotions get too wrapped up in things.

And fine, but isn't that what friends do? Worry about each other from time to time?

Well, fucking with her heads definitely is something they like to do regularly.

[ She exhales with a sigh. ]

...well, yeah. Friends do worry. I ought to know... I make Edge worry all the time back home.

Well I suppose we could not be friends and therefore I wouldn't have to worry about you.

( she is of course teasing the other, a more humorous tone in her voice. )

Even if we're friends, I think there's gonna be a bit of worrying along the way.

[ Red laughs. ]

...so yeah. Let's be friends.

That sounds like a lovely plan then, to our friendship.

[ Red takes a deep breath and tries to let some of the tension out. ]

And... I guess I'm managing. I think that's the best we can really do here, isn't it? Just... try to keep going.

I guess the only advice I can give is to try not to get too worked about it. People here so far, well most of them anyways, have been quite kind. We're all just trying to survive here.

Yeah, that helps. It's still... weird to adjust to, I guess.
